> As meaningless deferrals distract British Columbians, police are becoming increasingly violent as they continue to act as Teal Jones’ private security force.

> Up at Waterfall Camp, RCMP have been running generators to power 24/7 flood lights and sending in tactical teams to intimidate and attempt sabotage. Three officers in green fatigues ran through camp, shaking tents and brandishing axes. One officer threatened a forest defender with an axe before attempting to smash peaceful blockades. 
> 
> In the midst of this night raid, a resupply mission was halted by one of the tactical officers admonishing, “Stay where you are and you won’t get hurt.”
> 
> When the arrest team finally arrived at 10:00 AM, they extracted one forest defender who was chained to the ground  and another who was locked into a log in a device we call a Lorax.
> 
> In stark contrast to the aggressive behaviour of the tactical officers, RCMP brought one forest defender cookies to help celebrate her birthday. When she was finally extracted from her dragon, the entire camp sang her happy birthday as she was escorted off site in handcuffs.

> Over at Gordon River Road and Braden Main, RCMP not only insulted but mistreated a woman with a disability. Moved by the losses of our camps and the falling of ancient giants, a non-Indigenous and a woman living with disabilities stretched a banner reading “Protect Ancient Trees” across the road, blocking industry access. The defenders were arrested for standing their ground. That one defender requires a cane to walk even short distances did not prevent the RCMP from dragging her by her arm and forcing her to walk the long distance to their vehicle. Ultimately, the police brought the vehicle to her, but the damage to her mental state was already done. She notified the attending officers that she was about to have a seizure. They ignored her.

> In the midst of her seizure, an officer grabbed and threw her against a vehicle, denying her the option of sitting or physical support to make her safe during her episode. When her seizure finally ended, the police announced their intention to search her. She requested a female officer. In a blatant insult to the hardship trans individuals endure, the arresting officer claimed, in a disingenuous tone, “I identify as female.”
