Thanks for all the caring and support people poured out to Romari Undi. Her mood is transformed — most of the time. She is starting to see improvement and I sure am. I haven’t seen her except on Face-time but here is my report on her great achievements from the past bunch of weeks.

She sat up in bed. This requires core muscles on both sides of her body! The stroke side as well as the undamaged side.

She sat up in a chair for 8 hours! An endurance test when her stroke left half her body very unwilling to participate.

She co-hosts a show at the rehab centre.

She got up and danced to Jerusalema. If you have not heard it please google it. You will likely dance to. Well, she leaned heavily on her physiotherapist, but it sounds like that is a pleasant enough experience too. Apparently he is better looking and kinder than anyone she has ever gone out with!

She is able to self propel in an electric wheelchair with a supportive back. And that brings me to asking.

Does anyone know where she might get such a fancy device at a fraction of the original cost? Mobility will give her much wanted freedom after more than a year. If you know of one — or hear of one please email me — pegfrank at telus.net<mailto:pegfrank at telus.net>.

I hope that everyone is doing well — managing during this covid challenge that only combines for many who already face daily challenges. May be learn from this that love is the answer and we can support one another.
