Hi everyone,
Last week I was in Vancouver for my what might become my annual visit to Oak tree Clinic, but on the way I stopped to see Romari.
She is currently at Holy Family Rehabilitation centre after having a sever stroke. She was flown home from Scotland and her son is trying to make arrangements for her to move back to Victoria, where she lived for years and where she has family. But in the meantime, she needs inspiration and love and support. We can all send that to her through the breezes and our good thoughts for her well-being. Let’s think about gentle recovery back to walking and being self-reliant. She is after all a spunky gal!
Half of her body is not as willing as the other half and this is very frustrating and debilitating for her. If you know Romari, you will know just how active she has been in our community. I asked if she wanted me to let you know about her and her whereabouts and she said yes. If you are friend of Romari’s and find yourself in the area of the rehabilitation centre, Romari would be able to get rolled out to see you at the main entrance off Argyle St. There is a greeter who you check in with — just inside the doors. You just need to ask to see Romari and make sure you stay safe and she is safe from COVID by only coming if you… YOU know the drill. Based on my experience, I would suggest that the afternoon is a better time to visit.
I don’t know her schedule but she seemed to have physiology just before lunch. And if you think to bring along something that she can do with one hand - like colour, that would be great. I sent some markers and a journal with her son yesterday after he came to make sure their dog Luna, was cared for while she was unable to do it.
Please receive this in love, -peg
