Good Day



I would like to invite you to take part in a new research study on COVID-19 in British Columbia called “COVID-19 Rapid Evidence Study of a Provincial Population Based Cohort for Gender and Sex (RESPPONSE)”. This study is being led by researchers at the Women’s Health Research Institute and the Vaccine Evaluation Center, in Vancouver, BC. You may have already participated in this study, by receiving a link to participate in your email. If you have already participated, thank you so much!



The purpose of this study is to understand the experiences and impacts of COVID-19 on the lives of people living in British Columbia, and to determine the population prevalence of COVID-19 in BC. Your participation in this study would involve two parts:


1) An online survey on the impact of COVID-19 (approximately 1 hour) provided in a link at the bottom of this email, and;


2) At the end of the survey, providing a mailing address to receive an at-home sample kit to test for COVID-19. We would ask you to provide a spit (salivary) sample to test for current/active COVID-19 infection, and small blood sample (using a finger prick) to test for past COVID-19 infection (antibodies). Instructions and a pre-paid envelope for you to return your samples will also be mailed to your home. You will receive the results of these tests.


Please note that there is not an honorarium for participating in this study. After participating, you will be automatically entered into a draw to win one of 200 possible $100 e-gift cards. All responses and identifying information will be kept confidential. To complete this study, you must be a woman living in British Columbia, between the ages 25-69.
