Hi everyone,
These are strange times we're living in. I wish an invisible safety bubble
around you and your loved ones.
Thanks to all of you who are sending out all the good reputable
information about Corona virus ... and for all the love and support for
each other ... I can feel it through the computer screen :))
I decided to go to my favourite source - the Oak Tree Clinic.
Here is the response from Dr. Neora Pick:

HI Margarite,
Thank you for your email about Covid19 and PLWH. Mary is busy with Covid
and St Paul’s ID, so we agreed that I will answer your questions.
At this time, there really is no data about PLWH doing worse (or better)
than others.
However, there are a few resources and things one can do to stay as healthy
as possible:
A) *Take their cART*- and ensure they *have 3 months supply* for the
time being. Having a robust immune system and undetectable VL is helpful.
B) As the BCCDC website for the public states, the *frequent hand
washing, and the social distancing* is a must at this time for all.
Relevant resources:
1. If people are worried about symptoms and testing, the BCCDC has a
good self-assessment tool:
https://covid19.thrive.health/ that they can take.
2. Catie has a good resource:
https://www.catie.ca/en/news/catie-update-covid-19?utm_source=tw&utm_medium=socmed&utm_campaign=031620&utm_content=en
This link answers the questions on Covid and HIV.
3. Also see the attached a document from California, which is pretty
good I think. Feel free to share it.
4. I know the BCCFE is also working on a statement on Covid19 and
HIV, but it’s not out yet.
Things are moving very fast. If we come across any new relevant info
related to covid and HIV, we will try to keep you posted.
Thank you, and Take care!
Neora
