Subject: Deadline Extended to Thursday February 6th to join Women's Conference
Hello,
We welcome you to our upcoming Friends for Life’s Women’s Wellness and Leadership Conference
on March 10, 2020, and to the Pacific AIDS Network (PAN) Stories of Lived Experience on March 11, 2020 at the Civic Hotel<https://civichotel.ca/> (13475 Central Ave, Surrey, BC)<https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Civic+Hotel,+Autograph+Collection/@49.1904951,-122.8505659,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m18!1m9!3m8!1s0x5485d9d358d76255:0x1b4a79bf22c7b38a!2sCivic+Hotel,+Autograph+Collection!5m2!4m1!1i2!8m2!3d49.1904951!4d-122.8483719!3m7!1s0x5485d9d358d76255:0x1b4a79bf22c7b38a!5m2!4m1!1i2!8m2!3d49.1904951!4d-122.8483719>, on the unceded traditional territory of the Semiahmoo, Katzie Kwikwetlem, Kwantlen, Qayqayt and Tsawwassen First Nations. We are partnering with Pacific AIDS Network to share costs and opportunities for two distinct events for people with HIV and/or with lived experience of hepatitis C.
The Women’s Wellness and Leadership Project<https://www.vancouverfriendsforlife.ca/women-s-welleness-project> was designed to support HIV positive women on their own path to health and wellness. The event is a celebration for all the women who applied for a grant (whether they received one or not) or participated in the process. We are all in this together.
The PAN’s Stories of Lived Experience <https://pacificaidsnetwork.org/peer-gathering-2020/?fbclid=IwAR2XQK-UynkXSxLlZsXVRQylAq1zfVTGOc4Xz2GSTrbeleW6terYRQLeb-E> (March 11, 2020) will take people with lived experience of HIV and/or lived experience of hepatitis C into an exciting new space for community building. The event brings together peers to talk about leadership in all aspects of life, as well as the issues that arise from their lived experiences, both honouring differences and discovering similarities.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided at the events. For more information on the Hotel Scholarship, Travel Subsidy (flight, car, bus, transit and/or ferry) please, find more info here: https://bit.ly/319gRp8
If you are interested in attending the Friends for Life’s Women’s Wellness and Leadership Conference and/or the Pacific AIDS Network (PAN) Stories of Lived Experience event please register by Thursday, February 6, no later than MIDNIGHT. Applicants will be informed of their status by February 11, 2020. https://bit.ly/319gRp8
For grant recipients who are interested in sitting on a panel and sharing how the grant helped them, your participation is welcome. Just let us know and we will give you all the information required.
We look forward to meeting all the women from across the province who carved their own path to improve their health, wellness, skills building and social connectivity!
