Hi Viva,

I'm writing to ask you beautiful women to please stay safe!

I need to give you all a heads up how contagious this Covid-19 virus is.

My husband tested POSITIVE for Covid on November 19th. I'm pretty sure he
got it in Vancouver the day before the travel restrictions were put in
place. He's an artist and he was there on a business trip to see a couple
of galleries that carry his jewellery.

He had to stay overnight (in a hotel) and had dinner in a restaurant with
family friends - the friends also came down with Covid on the same day as
he did. Since they were all healthy previously and all got sick at the same
time (4 days later) it feels like the restaurant was the most likely source
of exposure. This restaurant was following Covid-19 precautions.

It's crazy because we've been really careful, it was the first time that
either of us had left the Island since last March!

He's doing well and pretty much recovered now. Compared to our friends he
had a mild case.

After his test came back positive we lived in separate spaces until he was
given the green light.

I have been tested three times and every time it's been NEGATIVE. The
first time was the gargle test, I was asymptomatic at that time. After I
developed some mild symptoms (mostly headaches, neck stiffness and low
energy) I retested using the nasal swab (not fun but more accurate) and it
also came back NEGATIVE.

My symptoms have continued so I was advised to test again and again it was
NEGATIVE.

I might just have a cold or flu bug but it feels different, only time will
tell.

I just want to encourage everyone to stay home as much as possible.

Stay in touch with the people you love by phone, computer or outside visits
- have patience and we'll all get through this.

With much love,

Margarite
