Hi Viva Women
Please see message below from Allison Carter who I believe, is a great ally to Poz women- she is the key person who has created Life and Love with HIV. Now she has found funding for this awesome film project. Check it out and get in touch with her if you’re interested!
Kath
Dear friends,
I’m reaching out about an HIV awareness media campaign that is seeking the participation of self-identified women living with HIV of all ages, sexualities, and ethnicities in and around the Vancouver/Lower mainland area.
We are creating two short films: one is about empowering oneself while living with HIV and the other is about U=U. The project is guided by women living with HIV, with support from myself and a wonderful local filmmaker. They will have a similar feel to these videos he produced with Shelly: https://www.edmondkilpatrick.com.
We are looking to meet with 3-5 women in downtown Vancouver on Thursday June 6th between 1:30pm and 3:30pm to discuss the project further over coffee or tea. Those interested are invited to contact me immediately to arrange a meeting time and place (email: allison_carter at sfu.ca).
What we will ask you is about when you feel the more free? The most at ease? The most safe and empowered? What that freedom feels like through your senses? It will be a very informal conversation. No need to prepare. We simply want to learn from you what freedom looks and feels like. Once you learn more about the project, and if it feels like it is a good fit for you, then we would chat about next steps and a future date for filming. A small honorarium will be provided to those who participate in the filming.
Please note that no prior experience on screen is needed and there may be ways to participate anonymously. All are welcome, even if it's just to learn more and have a cup of tea with us.
Thanks very much for considering this.
Warmly,
Allie
