*Federal Department of Women and Gender Equality Announces New Funding for
CGSHE to Develop & Evaluate Trauma-Informed Supports *

On June 25, 2019 Hon. Dr. Hedy Fry announced the new funding for CGSHE and
community partners to undertake the development and evaluation of
trauma-informed practices in providing support to criminalized women and
gender diverse people who have experienced gender-based violence.
CGSHE at UBC is pleased to receive this funding from the federal Department
of Women and Gender Equality (WAGE) to develop and evaluate trauma-informed
and evidence-based best practices to support and work alongside
marginalized and criminalized women and gender diverse people who have
experienced gender-based violence.  We look forward to undertaking this
project in partnership with Atira Women’s Resource Society, Sex Workers
United Against Violence Society (SWUAV), SWAN Vancouver, the Western
Aboriginal Harm Reduction Society (WAHRS) and Unlocking the Gates.
