The Oral History Project, which is looking at long-term HIV-survivors, is still looking for a woman to conduct interviews. She could request to work only with women, if she chooses, otherwise it would interviewing both men and women. This is a great opportunity to learn new skills, make some money and, most importantly, to get make sure that there are female long-term survivors included in this research.
I plan to share my story. If there are other women out there who would like their stories included, can you please drop me an email with the subject line/header “Oral History”. Email address is pegfrank at telus.net. I know it should be HERstory. My involvement is advisory, mostly focusing on the islands, but if someone from elsewhere would like me to pass their names along to the investigators working from Vancouver, I will certainly do that. There is a small honorarium for story-tellers.
Please consider this opportunity. By the way Long-Term Survivor is defined as someone who lived with HIV before there was anti-retroviral medication.
