Community engagement hub, UHC and other updates
Dear friends and colleagues,
I hope that this email finds you well.
This year UNAIDS is strengthening the way that we engage with communities
of people living with, affected by and who care about HIV, to ensure that
we keep fostering an inclusive, participatory, constructive and transparent
collaboration moving forward.
*Online community engagement hub*
As a critical component of these efforts, I am pleased to share with you
the online *Engagement Hub for Communities living with, affected by and who
care about HIV
<https://unaids.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f40a9f8808ca831128eb0af44&id=59e2eb7d7d&e=dd27280564>*.
This online hub aims to provide communities with strategic information and
resources on landmark political processes that could benefit from the
active engagement of communities. It is structured under the pillars of
sharing knowledge about these processes, providing opportunities to speak
up and discuss, and take action.
This online hub has been developed with and for communities, with the
technical and financial support from UNAIDS.
We hope that you will all enjoy this resource and interact with its
different features. And if you have a moment, please so share your feedback
on your experience using this hub, and how we can improve it as it evolves.
*Survey on Universal Health Coverage*
As the first landmark political process that we have included in the hub,
we have identified the *Universal Health Coverage agenda, and its upcoming
High-Level meeting scheduled for September 2019*, with its
anticipated Political Declaration, as one of the main agendas in which
UNAIDS will heavily support community engagement.
To ensure that the voices of communities are heard and amplified in the
process leading up to, during and after the High-Level meeting on UHC, we
have developed a survey in English, Spanish, French, Russian and Arabic,
which you can *find here
<https://unaids.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f40a9f8808ca831128eb0af44&id=1d3fc244a9&e=dd27280564>*.
*We would be most **grateful** if you could please take a moment to respond
to this **confidential **survey, and share it with your friends, colleagues
and networks. The survey will remain open until March 24th. * We anticipate
that the survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Your input through the survey will be critical to make sure that Member
States take into account the needs of communities in Universal Health
Coverage, and that quality health services effectively reach everyone
everywhere, and are delivered with dignity and respect. Thank you so much
in advance for your time and commitment!
*UN High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage – 23 September 2019,
New York*
If you are planning to participate in the High Level Meeting on Universal
Health Coverage (Sept 23), or the multi-stakeholder hearings (April 29 TBC)
in advance of the HLM, there are some upcoming deadlines we want you to
know. If your organization does not have ECOSOC status, you must apply for
accreditation by 1 March. If you do have ECOSOC status, registration for
the multistakeholder hearing is 13-27 March. Registration for the HLM will
be in July. More detailed information can be found *here

In solidarity,
Laurel
