Dinner will be provided. This event is FREE to Members of Positive Living
BC, people living with HIV and their supporters. Front line service
providers are also invited to attend.

Timothy Brown is "The Berlin Patient", the first person ever known to be
cured of HIV infection. He was living with HIV when he was diagnosed with
acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

His medical specialist, Dr. Gero Hütter had a cutting-edge idea to treat
Timothy's leukemia by replacing his immune system using a stem cell
transplant from someone whose natural immunity is resistent to HIV
infection.

The rest is medical history. International Researchers have recognized
Timothy as the first documented case of someone who has been cured of HIV.

Through his activism, Timothy advocates for more research leading to a
universal cure for HIV that is available to everyone regardless of economic
means or background. He donates his time, blood and occasionally bodily
tissues to help science advance toward realizing this goal.

The Community Forum Educational Series is presented six times per year at
various locations throughout Metro Vancouver. Date, time and locations to

clients who have or are at risk for HIV/AIDS, their care givers and
families. Job responsibilities involve working with clients on an
