'Through Our Own Eyes'
Photo Exhibit

Join us tonight for the opening of 'Through Our Own Eyes' - an exhibition
of photographs and collages on the lived realities of HIV disclosure,
stigma and criminalization by cis and trans women living with HIV. This
photo exhibit takes place on the unceded Indigenous territories of the
Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh), Tsleil-Waututh (Sel̓íl̓witulh), and Musqueam
(xʷməθkʷəy̓əm) Nations.

Join us for the opening of 'Through Our Own Eyes,' an exhibition of
photographs and collages on the lived realities of HIV disclosure, stigma
and criminalization by cis and trans women living with HIV. The photographs
and artwork were created as part of a participatory, community-based
photo-voice project by the SHAWNA Team in collaboration with the
Afro-Canadian Positive Network of BC, Oak Tree Clinic, Canadian Aboriginal
AIDS Network and YouthCo.

Where: 434 Columbia Street, Vancouver BC
When: Thursday September 13, 2018 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

The evening will include an opening by Elder Roberta Price, followed by a
panel of speakers beginning at 6:30pm. The panel will include:
* Flo Ranville, SHAWNA Peer Mentor
* Lulu Gurney, SHAWNA Peer Research Associate
* Patience Magagula, Executive Director of the Afro-Canadian Positive
Network of BC
* Micheal Vonn, Policy Director, BC Civil Liberties Association
* Mary Kestler, MD, Infectious Disease Specialist, Oak Tree Clinic
* Andrea Krüsi, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine,
University of British Columbia

Light refreshments will be served. The event is free, but space is limited,
so please RSVP via the blue button below if you haven't done so already.
Limited seating is available for those who need it. The event space is
accessible, however the washrooms are narrow.

Please note: This event will be photographed and media representatives may
be present.
