HIV peer health navigation programs can have a positive impact on the
health and wellness of people living with HIV. These programs offer
a person-centred, peer-to-peer approach to guide, connect, refer, educate
and accompany people living with HIV through systems of care.
This webinar will explore Canadian peer health navigation models and
introduce participants to the new CATIE resource *Practice Guidelines in
Peer Health Navigation for People Living with HIV.* The Guidelines were
created by a national working group to provide evidence based
recommendations for developing and managing a Peer Navigation Program.
Along with the guidelines are two examples of successful Peer Programs in
Canada.
Speakers:
- Glen Bradford, Positive Living BC, Vancouver, BC
- Jamie Crossman, Saskatchewan Health Authority, Regina, SK
- Danita Wahpoosewyan, Saskatchewan Health Authority, Regina, SK
- Christine Johnston, CATIE
This webinar is also suited for organizations developing HIV/HCV programs
with Peer Support Workers.
We encourage you to foreword this email to others as our long term goal is
to develop a network of agencies and Peers in BC and across Canada
providing HIV/HCV Peer-to-peer programming.
