Thanks Kath and Shelly. All our Viva members, I am looking for:
1. Do you consider stigma a problem for you and, if so please say in what
way.
2. Would you mention you have HIV to possible employers?
3. Have you told your pharmacist to keep a record of your HIV status?*
4. Are you keeping HIV secret from family or friends?
If you do not find stigma a problem, I would really appreciate knowing that
too.
*Please note that a pharmacist will not keep on record that you are HIV+
even if you get your HIV medication from them. However, if you do tell
them, the pharmacist will alert you to any interactions you will have with
other meds and vitamins, etc. if you tell them what you are on. I recently
had a medication ordered for me from a psychiatrist and my pharmacist
alerted me right away that this would not be a good mediation to take with
my HIV meds. I phoned the psychiatrist and they looked it up and confirmed
it.
I just want to add that I have been getting sleepy during the day. I tried
to cut back on my anti anxiety pills but then I couldn't sleep at night. I
finally realized that the ritonavir in one of my meds was boosting the
anti-anxiety pills and it was a mistake to take them at the same time of
day. Just letting everyone know in case it's a problem for you too.
Denise
