[Viva] Women at the Gathering

Interesting story. And it does raise questions. What I see in your father's case is that as much as death is a part of life as we are taught to believe, it is still very hard to accept at any age. Thus the question 'Why me?" It is as if death is the one enemy that we continue so hard to run and escape from yet it catches up to us sooner, like your young friends who have died, or later, like your father at the age of 83. It raises the question, "If death is such a natural part of life why do we as humans put up such resistance?" Is it really so natural to die and be grateful for the few decades we get to live on this earth , to learn the things we know, the skills we developed, the relationships we've cultivated all to just toss it all aside and succumb to death?
There is definitely food for thought and the more thought the more questions that arise. I guess the important thing is to find the right answers. A task that will take time and patience.

Just a few of my humble thoughts.
Have a good night Denise.

>> Those are all wonderful ideas and thoughts you have raised today and over the last few days! It would be great to be able to get on the agenda of the gathering to facilitate a discussion among women to get their thoughts on the questions you've listed.
>>
>> I am sure each one of us have our unique ideas about our purpose in life, why we are here to begin with, and what our hope is for the future. Many of our ideas will be based on our individual experiences, cultural and spiritual background, belief system, what we utilize as tools to guide us in our lives, and how we can use these tools or instruments to benefit ourselves and others in our community in an up-building and faith strengthening way.

>> It would be based on respect and acceptance of each others thoughts and feelings even if we don't agree with them fully.
>>
>> I sense that you are a deep thinker and need specific answers in your life right now. Perhaps this is a way of finding the answers to at least some of your questions. I'm sure you have heard the phrase: "We look back to learn and look ahead to live."
