Oh my goodness..

This news comes with immense sadness and tears. Funke was such a strength to VIVA Women. Her energy, wisdom, courageousness, and passion will be sorely missed... There will definitely be a void with her voice no longer with us. I can only hope and pray we remember her stance on the issue of poitive women having a strong and independent voice and how strongly she felt about VIVA being by and for positive women and what that truly means... May VIVA's strength grow in her memory...

Dear ViVA women,
I'm sharing this sad news that our sister, friend and colleague, Funke Ilumoka, has died. Funke was one of the co-founders of ViVA and a current Standing Committee member. She was also one of the first people to challenge the Canadian immigration system to include PLHIV.
Her love of life and reflective wisdom will be missed.
Attached is an invitation from the family with a request for confidentiality.
with love, Margarite
