[Viva] ViVA meeting and Poz Gathering

Excellent recap of the Gathering.   I agree that it was an inspiring weekend  especially enhanced by youth participation.   I  witnessed our collective strength moving ahead into the future !

 

I like the ViVA mission and vision – keeping it simple and to the point is powerful. My only feedback is concerning grammar in the mission statement.  By the way, is ViVA now called ViVA Women?  Either way, I would suggest using “is”  rather than a comma and later a semi-colon to define ourselves.  So it would read :  

 

ViVA is a diverse group of Women Living with HIV across BC who empower each other through leadership, mentorship and support.

 

 

Much appreciation to all of you committed women who stayed up late on Saturday night working on this!!

Hey gals,

Wow, wow, wow ... I'm always stunned by the networking and the spontaneous healing that can happen at the Positive Gathering. It borders on magic!

It was great to see so many of you there. If you couldn't make it, please don't miss next year.

The youth presence at the gathering was amazing and like never before. The youth keynote speakers panel on Saturday evening surpassed any of my expectations and was warmly received by the community. Three brave young (empowered) adults spoke about their life experiences, with engaging, heartfelt, inspirational and moving talks. Each of them received well deserved standing ovations!

 

The ViVA women's meeting Friday went well. After going over a brief history of ViVA and our accomplishments this year, we proceeded to update the ViVA Mission Statement and Vision. Keep in mind that this is a living document. Comments are welcome.

Thanks to all who attended and shared their thoughts.

P.S. ViVA will be turning 9 on April 20th!
