[Viva] Positive Gathering Vancouver

There will be many great sessions at the Positive Gathering this year.  I
will be giving a talk on March 19, Saturday at 9.30 in the Comox Room on
how to give a speech - or even an interview with media.  This will be for
beginners to seasoned speakers.  If you have to be a speaker at a wedding
or a funeral, I can give you tips and particularly on how to overcome
nerves.  I will have a videographer at this session but they will not be
filming people in the room, just me.  I am sending out this warning just in
case you are worried about the filming.

The talk will also be on how to tell stories through a structured method
where the audience will learn more from it and not go away feeling
depressed by the subject matter - which is very hard to do considering how
difficult it is for us to not feel sad over events that have happened to us
or to others.

If anyone wants to volunteer to try speaking there will be time and no
pressure at all.  When I first spoke it was to three people and I was sick
to my stomach.

I hope any others who have sessions at the Gathering will let us know what
they are speaking on and what time/where they are speaking so that as Viva
women we can support each other.

I am really looking forward to our Viva meeting before the Gathering and
seeing all of you again.  It has been too long.
