Hi
If I were in Vancouver I would be happy to attend. Thanks Margarite.
I want to share news that came in from one of the researchers on a CHIWOS, WATCH study team member, Angela. As you may know research is being conducted regarding the impact of criminalization on the lives of positive women. I would be happy to share what I can about the law, but suggest that there are others in Vancouver much more knowledgeable than I. I certainly don’t have an answer regarding what we should do given the current craziness.
I’m sorry to share this horrible news with you but a woman in Manitoba was just sentenced to 2 years less a day in prison for HIV non-disclosure. The language used in this article is absolutely appalling. An indication of the gross injustice of this law and how much work we have ahead of us:

I’m trying to write an encouraging letter to her through her lawyer, so that she understands that she has some support. I worry about suicide. I would feel so helpless if it were me. Know that I feel blessed to have met each of you. If I don’t write often its because I am trying to write a big thing called a book and it's taking way too long and way too much energy. Or I am out enjoying life — which I do regularly. Love to everyone. -peg
