Friends, Supporters and Members of YouthCO, 
We are excited to make the following announcement about our programming! 
As many of you know, YouthCO has been working closely with Camp Moomba, as we share a mandate to support young people impacted by HIV. Over the past several years YouthCO staff and members have offered peer education and support at camp as we share a community of members, friends and supporters. Since 1997, the Moomba Society (operating Camp Moomba) has been focused on enhancing the lives of children and youth through the Camp Moomba summer program. The secondary focus of Moomba is to provide year-round programming for children impacted by HIV/AIDS. For 18 years, youth living with and affected by HIV have found community and gained adventure and leadership skills through attending camp. 

This past year, the YouthCO Board of Directors has been working with The Moomba Society to integrate our programming. By unifying our organizations we are able to more effectively engage and support youth living with HIV. We are thrilled that The Moomba Society has chosen to build on our previous successful partnerships and join with us. Starting on September 30th 2015, Moomba programs will be run by YouthCO and by the end of 2015, The Moomba Society will be fully integrated at YouthCO. In order to assist with this evolution of our programs, a Moomba advisory committee has been created and the continued engagement of Moomba alumni, staff and board in programming will ensure a smooth transition. 

We are working with Moomba to host a community fundraising event for our joint supporters to come together and celebrate our shared commitment to support youth living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Please join us on October 22 nd 6.30-10pm at Vancouver’s Science World to celebrate the fusion of our two incredible organizations. Over the coming weeks and months we welcome all questions, comments and feedback. We’re looking forward to seeing you on October 22 nd and for Camp Moomba 2016!
