Sorry I mixed up Fort St James with Fort Nelson. Fort St James is a couple hours from Prince George while Fort Nelson is much further.

The article is unclear if the nurse knew her serostatus or not? It seems she may not have been aware either. Why wasn't the rapid test implemented? Why did it take a week for the nurse to know her status?

My concern is the individuals and families of both parties and if they are getting the support they need during this scary and trying time.

Fort St James is an very small rural community about 10 hours north of Prince George. I can see this becoming a witch hunt if someone doesn't go in and support these families.

Looking for further input.

I read about this online in the Vancouver Sun, I believe …. and it sickened me. It is very unfortunate that yet again the emphasis is made to look like we are not to be normal members of society! The child was most likely NOT at risk as the nurse is probably undetectable. However, of course the media will run with the worst possible scenario and the poor nurse will feel vilified.

This makes me SO mad! This kind of story keeps stigma and misinformation rolling out through the public mainstream!
