Dear ICWNA members:

I would like to take this opportunity to announce the appointment of Denise
Wozniak to the ICW International Steering Committee (ISC) as our second
North American representative. She joins Deloris Dockrey who is beginning
her second term in the ISC.

Please join me in welcoming Denise to the ICW ISC family!

Below is her biography from the ICWNA Board of Directors announcement.

*Denise Wozniak* (previously Denise Becker) has been living with HIV since
1989, although she was diagnosed in 1994 when her baby became sick and
died. In 1996, Denise founded the Hummingbird Kids Society of British
Columbia for children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Denise has served
on various boards, including BC Positive Living Society, the Canadian
HIV/AIDS Legal Network and Positive Women's Network of

BC.  She was a member of the Children and AIDS International NGO Denise
Wozniak*, *Network and helped produce UNAIDS guidelines on the inclusion of
children in British Columbia AIDS programs.  Before finding out her
diagnosis, Denise worked as a Board Secretary for School Trustees and in
Human Resources at Ernst & Young International. Denise was awarded both the
Queen's Gold and Diamond Jubilee Medals for her efforts to raise awareness
of HIV/AIDS on TV, radio, newspapers, schools and hospitals. Currently,
Denise is a member of ViVA, the GIPA-principled (UNAIDS, Greater
Involvement of People Living with HIV and AIDS) BC group for HIV+ women and
writes for PositiveLite and Positive Living BC.  Denise is a Toastmaster
trained speaker and lives with her husband and their dog near Vancouver, BC.
