 Dear member:



As governments and pundits try to investigate and analyze the cause of the
demise of flight MH17 in the Ukraine, one glaring fact is left out of the
all the noise: the loss.  The loss of the nearly 300 mothers, fathers,
sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The loss of 108
people whose life’s work was dedicated to the understanding and eradication
of the disease and stigma of HIV and AIDS.  The loss of lives that
*mattered* to thousands of people around this planet.  What do you say in
the face of such tragedy?  What words can calm and comfort in the aftermath
of such devastation?



We at the Canadian Treatment Action Council would like to send our thoughts
and prayers to all our brothers and sisters around the globe reeling from
this awful news.  We extend our goodwill to all those participating in the
AIDS 2014 Conference in Melbourne, Australia and we ask that each and every
one of you reading this post― despite this discouraging news― continue the
fight, continue to persevere, continue to press on.  This is the best we
can do in response to this senseless catastrophe.

Tandis que les gouvernements et les experts tentent d'enquêter et
d'analyser la cause de la disparition de vol MH17 en Ukraine, il y a un
fait qui est perdu dans tout le bruit: la perte. La perte de presque 300
mères, pères, sœurs, frères, oncles, tantes, cousins, cousines et amis. La
perte de 108 personnes dont le travail de la vie a été consacrée à la
compréhension et à l'éradication de la maladie et de la stigmatisation du
VIH et du sida. La perte de vies qui étaient importants à des milliers de
personnes autour de cette planète. Que dites-vous face à une telle
tragédie? Quels mots peuvent apaiser et conforter à la suite d'une telle
dévastation?



Nous, au Conseil canadien de surveillance et d'accès aux
traitements voudrions envoyer nos pensées et nos prières à tous nos frères
et sœurs dans le monde entier sous le choc de cette nouvelle terrible. Nous
exprimons notre bonne volonté à tous les participants à la Conférence sur
le sida 2014 à Melbourne, en Australie et nous demandons que tous et chacun
d'entre vous qui lisent ce post, malgré ces nouvelles, continuez la lutte,
continuez à persévérer, continuez à poursuivre. C'est le meilleur que nous
pouvons faire en réponse à cette catastrophe insensée.
