It is sad that these people spent their days trying to save others from an untimely and blameless death and then they were taken. They left a great legacy.

Hello All, members of ICWNA
The already very somber news of MH17 being shot down over Ukraine from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was intensified as the names and homelands of many of those killed were slowly being released between last night and this morning, EDT. Several media sources, including BBC America, World News, and CNN indicate that up to 100 of those on board were on route to the International AIDS Conference in Melbourne.
The attached links are two media sources indicating that among the attendees lost include Dr. Joep Lange, former IAS president and Glenn Thomas, spokesman from WHO. This must surely be affecting those in Melbourne. A minutes silence and candlelight vigil was held in Melbourne.
I offer my condolences to all the families and friends of all the passengers and all those in Melbourne who are friends and colleagues of those attendees lost.
Best
Karen
