HI Anne
Its called the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network and my closest contact there is Alison Symington who worked on the film Positive Women Exposing Injustice. (just noticed you can watch that online at their website - worth the time!Symington). Richard Elliot is the top gun and a wise individual. (416) 595-1666 ext.2291.
I think when it comes to communicable diseases of things like SARS. And I guess you can think like that too. I was taught by a wise woman that when they ask if you are using any drugs at the border they are thinking illegal drugs so the answer is no.
But check with Richard. He is much more aware of the law than anyone I know.
Go Girl and know that the spirit of us all is with you - when you need strength and compassion. Inspire us. -peg

> Dawn you are awesome, thank you! Now for one other question. On the medical questionnaire they ask if you have communicable disease. Is hiv a communicable disease? I read that in the states it's not in that classification, and am still looking for up-to-date Canadian info, the ministry of healh in bc says it is but thats from 2008. (holy old info on their website!). I don't want to lie... But in this case I might. Would I get in trouble if I was found out? I hate doing so... But I want to pursue this, and if i can work legally and dont have to disclose i want to avoid questions and obviously discrimination. I'm still sooo nervous and scared that this could totally blow up in my face one day, later on you know? And I've been more open about my status and to go deep underground again and be super scared of being found out is shitty. Well, I'll give it a go and hope for the best.

>> Hey there, so I just paid for EMR training in October, hoping to be a medic and possibly I go on to be a paramedic. Umm I wasn't freaking out until I registered for the course... And now I am. Can a poz person work as a paramedic? Does anybody know who I can get ahold of to get info on this?? Cause all of a sudden this might not be such a good idea... Fuck... Any info would be appreciated, ok thanks!
