Wow Stephanie, 

This is a hard one because it is your child that you will be most concerned about. Margarite's advice seems very good. Try to think and react calmly and walk with your head high. See it as an opportunity rather than an attack. Turn it around and try to see it from that person's perspective (ignorance of HIV) (thinking she needs to protect others?) Come from a place of compassion and your truth.

Unfortunately, we have much work to do to undue the harm done with the scare tactics used in the early days of HIV and AIDS.
