Hi Viva gals,

 

A new study out of the BC Center for Excellence is recruiting participants.  Please note:  Most of us won’t qualify as it is only for people NOT on treatment.

The study  is testing a drug called diflunisal. It's a 9 week commitment and participants are compensated $500. The study details are attached. The study has some very specific inclusion criteria so the study team is having a tough time engaging people who might benefit:

 

1. Adult men and women aged 19 years or over

2. HIV positive by Elisa and Western blot, at least 3 months prior to screening

3. No antiretroviral therapy within 3 months prior to screening

4. Plasma HIV RNA (viral load) > 10,000 copies/mL at screening

5. Current CD4 cell count >350 cells/mm3 at screening

6. Adequate renal function as demonstrated by estimated GFR >60 mL/min. at screening
