The Plus ou Moins Collective is excited to announce *The Plus ou Moins Open
Conference on HIV/AIDS, Access and Visibility*from Aug. 8th- Aug. 10th (at
2075 Rue Plessis, Montreal, QC) as part of Pervers/cité 2013 (link). The
conference is free and open to all. If you are interested in getting more
details or in registering your organization for the event we invite you to
contact us atplusoumoinscontact at gmail.com . Registration is not necessary
for attendance to all events however it will help us assess food needs and
capacity requirements.

Plus ou Moins came about in response to the lack the space for critical
community engagement with many of the real life experiences of people
living with HIV. We are concerned that many of the HIV conferences/forums
are often not accessible to everyone for a diversity of reasons including
physical barriers, financial barriers and academic barriers. With Plus ou
Moins we are hoping to challenge this through a combination of our actions,
panels, workshop themes and an openness to critique not only current
systems but also our own process.

We are aware that nobody gets it right all the time but through a process
of self-reflection we can get to a place that feels right, more or less,
for all who are sero-concerned. We seek to emphasize that HIV and AIDS is
no longer a matter of positive or negative, sick or well. An informed and
reflexive approach reveals that we are all sero-concerned. In a world of
rising infection rates and diminishing visibility in the mass media, the
line between HIV + and HIV – is rapidly becoming irrelevant.

The Plus ou Moins Collective has been working around the clock to assemble
a list of speakers, panelists and workshop facilitators from a diversity of
backgrounds and experiences to speak on a range of topics often left out of
the standard discourse on HIV/AIDS in the hopes of generating new
directions and new conversations from a place of empowerment for Poz folks
and their allies. Our speakers are:
