We wanted to draw your attention to an action that we are supporting by
AIDS ACTION NOW! regarding an unbelievable criminalization case in Ontario,
Canada. Please see below for more details.

The "JM" case will be going to court in Barrie on July 8. This woman needs
our support.

In September 2011 "JM," a woman living with HIV, was charged with
aggravated sexual assault for not disclosing her status. Two of the charges
refer to oral sex with an undetectable viral load (fellatio and
cunnilingus). Despite the very low risk, (if not absence of risk) the crown
is refusing to drop the oral sex charges. Another charge alleges
unprotected vaginal sex. Again, JM's viral load was undetectable at the time
and she also claims a condom was used.

This is clearly a case of an unnecessary and unjust prosecution.

AIDS ACTION NOW! is proposing a lunch hour picket of the courthouse in
Barrie at 1:00 on July 8. We need a critical mass in order to arrange
transport. We would probably be leaving Toronto around 11:00 am and would
return in the mid afternoon.
