*CAAN VOW (Voices of Women) Standing Committee is seeking new members!*
*Who**:* If you are an Aboriginal woman who wants to make a difference for
your community, and is knowledgeable about HIV and AIDS and Aboriginal
women’s issues, we invite you to submit an application to become a CAAN VOW
committee member.
Aboriginal women *living with* or *affected* by HIV and AIDS are strongly
encouraged to apply. *Public disclosure of HIV status is not a
requirement*to be part of CAAN VOW. We welcome all the diversity of
our Aboriginal
women's community, which include Inuit, Métis and First Nations; women who
are two-spirit or transgendered;  women who are front-line workers; women
who are health care providers and/or community health representatives and
women who may already be connected and/or working with a CAAN member
Aboriginal AIDS Service Organization (AASO). We welcome all diversity!!
*What**:* As a standing committee within the Canadian Aboriginal AIDS
Network (CAAN), the VOW women represents leadership in all issues of
HIV/AIDS.  The VOW represents Aboriginal women from across Canada and are
currently working together to carry out a 5 year National Aboriginal
Women’s Strategy on HIV and AIDS in Canada.
