This is a great organization and I have sat on this Board before, they try
to ensure cheaper meds to other countries but are very involved with
prisons, and other areas as seen in the email below.  I am not sure if
anyone is running from Positive Living Society of BC... I might try but if
anyone else wants to take it then that would be good too... maybe someone
from one of the areas mentioned.  It is not a Board with all HIV+ people,
mostly legal or human rights people.  Please let me know if you plan on
running and I will step back or if you would like to nominate me.. don't
feel obligated at all.

Hello,****

The Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network is seeking to fill positions on its
Board of Directors. Sitting on the Board provides an opportunity to play a
lead role in terms of defending the human rights of people living
with/vulnerable to HIV/AIDS, both in Canada and internationally.****

The Legal Network strives to ensure its Board of Directors includes people
living with HIV, reflects a gender balance and the ethno-racial diversity
of Canada, and includes representatives from all regions of the country. We
also aim for a board that reflects the diversity of communities
particularly affected by HIV, including: lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgendered communities; sex workers; young people; people with
disabilities; people who currently or previously used drugs; people who
have been in prison; Aboriginal peoples; and communities with ties to
countries with generalized HIV epidemics, people who currently or
previously used drugs.****

Attached, please find the nomination form for candidates seeking to be
elected to the Board of Directors. The deadline to submit nominations is
Friday, 19 April 2013 at 5:00pm (E.D.T.).****

Le Réseau juridique canadien VIH/sida cherche à combler des postes à son
conseil d’administration. Siéger au conseil offre la possibilité de jouer
un rôle de premier plan dans la défense des droits humains des personnes
vivant avec/vulnérables au VIH/sida, au Canada  et dans le monde. ****

Le Réseau juridique vise à faire en sorte que son conseil d’administration
compte des personnes vivant avec le VIH ainsi qu’une représentation
équilibrée des sexes, de la diversité ethnoraciale, et de toutes les
régions du Canada. Nous visons aussi à former un conseil d’administration
qui reflète la diversité des communautés particulièrement affectées par le
VIH, notamment les communautés lesbiennes, gaies, bisexuelles et
transgenre; les travailleuses et travailleurs sexuels; les jeunes; les
personnes handicapées; les personnes qui utilisent ou ont déjà utilisé des
drogues; les personnes incarcérées ou qui l’ont déjà été; les personnes
autochtones; et les communautés rattachées à des pays aux prises avec des
épidémies généralisées de VIH.****

Vous trouverez ci-joint le formulaire de mise en candidature pour élection
au conseil d’administration. La date limite pour soumettre une candidature
est le vendredi 13 avril 2013 à 17 h 00 (H.A.E.). ****
