Thank you Tami for bringing this to our attention. I googled it and found
an article from 2009 saying that when Lu's Pharmacy operated out of there
transgender women where refused services. Now I remember when it came out
in the news too.
So I looked into the VWHC website here is their mission statement.
*Our Mission Statement*
We are a non-profit women's organization whose mission is to value women's
knowledge and to support one another to take charge of our own health. We
provide a safe and welcoming environment for all self-identified women
seeking health information and services.
And to answer your question Ally, it is a partnership between BC Women's
Hospital/Oak Tree Clinic and the VWHC.
To the best of my knowledge, Oak Tree is running the support group and the
Health Collective providing the space.
* As long as I am involved all HIV+ women are welcome.*
Hope that helps.
