[Viva] NEW Peer Support Group at VWHC

Good Day ViVA Women,

    So, I'm not sure why you refer to this place as "anti trans"...do they have a policy which bans transgendered or is it a case of transgendered feeling unwelcome? Tami, please let us know what the specifics are. 
    I also wonder Margarite, if this support group is a part of VWHC or if you are simply using their space. When I heard you talking about this group a while ago I thought it was affiliated with Oak Tree, is this correct? If your only using this space on behalf of Oak Tree, then the specifics of the women attending this group are not the business of the VWHC, in my opinion. 
    I also think that if Tami is correct, then it would be good for the VWHC to have their doors opened to all women, even if the first step is only this little support group. Change has to begin somewhere...
    Tami, please get back to us all regarding the VWHC policies and if they actually ban transgendered people, it is something we should know about if this is the case.
    I also want to say Thank You to Margarite and Valerie for your work and willingness to step in and get started and for facilitating this support group in the downtown east side. Also, Thanks to Margarite for all your work in starting and facilitating the monthly support group at Oaktree Clinic. You are both much appreciated.
