[Viva] VOLUNTEER needed for Positive Gathering

Hi Steven,
 
This is Tracey MacKinnon, a former member, who moved to Ontario...almost 2 years ago now....I'm interested in helping out in whatever way I can....via teleconference...
 
In fact, I'm involved with ATB here in Thunder Bay, Ontario we have a "Opening Doors" Conference at the Victoria Inn this Oct, where we were given cameras and themes each month to take pictures, of and tell our stories thru pictures....it's been a wonderful, and very empowering experience....I'm trying to get the Organization here interested into doing something like Kecia, Claudette & Gals and I had going in Van Island...thru AVI, a collective called the "Viral Monolougues" after Eve Elser's Vagina Monologues.....we used to go out to communities, schools, Universitries, and travel to the "islands" and speak...thru the Speakers' Bureau with VIPWAS & AVI.

The 2011 Positive Gathering held December 2-4, 2011 was successful in drawing over 200 HIV+ participants from across British Columbia.   More than 30 workshops were offered over the three day event, with two keynote speakers presenting messages which underscored our theme of “Empowerment”. 
 
On behalf of Positive Living BC, I am writing to invite you to join us in planning the 2013 event.  The 2013 dates are March 22-24, 2013.  We believe that this community-based event planned by representatives from agencies and peer support groups serving HIV + persons from all corners of the province has achieved the success it has because of the voices at the planning table.  Thank you for your commitment and support. 
 
We do hope that your organization will participate in this endeavour. The Positive Gathering Planning Committee meets monthly on the 3rd Monday at 3:00pm at Positive Living BC.  Attached are an Agenda and other relevant documents. 
 
Our first 2013 planning meeting is scheduled for 3:00pm Monday  August 20, 2012 in the Positive Living BC Boardroom (or by teleconference for our out of town participants).  
 
Please advise me if you wish to participate and the name and contact details of your designated representative.
