Dear Forum Members,

On October 22, the Salt Spring Forum will partner with Salt Spring's
Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign to host Stephen Lewis, one of Canada’s
most passionate humanitarians.

Lewis served as Canada’s Ambassador to the United Nations, as well as the UN
Secretary General’s Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS. One of Canada’s great
orators, he recently delivered the eulogy at Jack Layton’s funeral.

On October 22, at 8:00pm, Stephen Lewis will speak at the Gulf Islands
Secondary School Gymnasium. Tickets for this event will sell out quickly, so
to ensure you are not disappointed I am providing all members an early
opportunity to purchase tickets before we begin publicly advertising the
event next week. Starting today, tickets will be available from our partners
Salt Spring Books, Salt Spring Coffee, Salt Spring Air, Morningside Cafe and
Bookstore, and Mouat’s.

Tickets are $15 for Members ($20 for Non-Members) and all the proceeds from
the event will be donated to the Stephen Lewis Foundation.  This event is
general admission, and doors will open at 7:00pm

At the same time, you can pick up some of the last remaining tickets for
Charles Emmerson, "The Crude North Strong and Free," October 14 at
ArtSpring.
