Here’s the scoop on JANE, the new social group PLBC (BCPWA) is
organizing....sounds promising.

‘No official facilitator.  Suzan Krieger and/or I will be at the first
couple of get togethers, have a coffee and leave.  We can provide
information regarding what Positive Living is offering, programs, how to
access an advocate and the Housing Kiosk, what happens on retreats, do women
come in to the free store, etc.

 

Nothing is paid for at the café.  There is no budget for JANE.  There is no
structure planned. We see it as a ‘Suits’ lite.  Suits is our program where
gay poz men get together once a month for a meal at a Vancouver restaurant.


 

We believe it could be an opportunity for women who work, or are on their
feet, who want to meet other women that are on a good path to wellness,
could meet each other for social networking, support, sharing wellness tips,
resources, personal experiences, etc.

 

If women of JANE want to branch out for an evening at a movie or a pot luck
at someone’s place, or an outing of some kind, we will be glad to help
organize it.

 

In the near future, Suzan and I (Richard is helping) will attempt a grant
that might lead to supporting a 2-day workshop/retreat

but perhaps something like; Women on the Move,  Getting to Know Me

Suzan and I have met women who rather not access the Positive Living BC
space or PWN, but want to know other positive women.

 

Positive Living has no agenda except to offer women something we have heard
from positive women is needed.

 

I hope that helps.

 

The first gathering will be; Thursday, June 9th, 4:00 pm Zawa Restaurant,
920 Commercial Drive @ Venables.  This is a temporary spot, we could adopt
it for future meetings or change venues.

contacted about events, dates and times.

I just saw the notice about the new women’s social group meeting on the
