CASUAL ON CALL POSITION

CLERICAL ASSISTANT

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Clerical Assistant performs administrative support duties including
reception, clerical work for staff and board, IT support, equipment and
supply inventory, and other duties as assigned.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST

_ Be extremely adept at managing a multitude of varied assignments
concurrently and accurately.

_ Be an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing.

_ Excel in a team setting and deal with others effectively.

_ Demonstrate initiative, professionalism and balance.

_ Have the ability to coordinate all logistical details for special events.

_ Be an experienced troubleshooter for a broad range of office equipment and
IT issues, including virus and spam handling, network, email, and browser
issues, program upgrading and installation, database maintenance.

_ Ability to oversee all office equipment such as copiers, postage machines,
printers, scanners.

_ Be able to touch type at minimum 50 wpm.

_ Be physically able to carry out the duties of the position.

_ Be able to organize work and to set priorities.

_ Be able to operate related equipment.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

_ Graduation from Grade 12

_ Computer Science training an asset

_ Expertise in all aspects of computer use on the Windows platform,
including network sharing and security issues, and Microsoft Office Suite
2000 and XP.

_ Two years of recent related experience in a non-profit organization or an
equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

_ Knowledge of women & HIV/AIDS issues an asset.
