I too see this as a good thing. Yes corporations are greedy, self serving, money grubbing machines...but if those machines want to give donated dollars to a good cause like BCPWA...then good. I have no doubt that this is not being done completely out of the goodness of their hearts. I have no doubt that they are looking for good press, good public opinion and some tax write off......but so what. They are still giving money to BCPWA, money this organization need. As long as accepting this donation is not contingent upon some quid pro quo of endorsement etc... then it's good by me.
Thanks top starbucks for this donation. They have made mega $$$$ from me alone over the years so it's good to see some going back into a community I care about.
Be well all......

I think this is a healthy discussion. Personally, I think you have to be willing to lobby and encourage to turn corporate greed into corporate giving. I am an optimist and believe that a frog can always turn into a prince. My favourite bad guy is big pharma and insurance companies but I never say never!

I find this sort of corporatism disgusting.
Starfucks is a terrible greedy corporation - just like most.
Trinkets of kickbacks to the community they bleed dry as a form of marketing crud.
Well, I won't go on.
For me it is VERY clear how terrible they are and have historically have been.
