Thanks for the question Denise.
PAN’s Positive Leadership Development Institute has three trainings:
Core Training or “Who am I as a Leader” (formerly level 1)
Communications (formerly level 2)
Board Governance (formerly level 3).
Core Training is a pre requisite for the other two but they can be taken in any
order. This is the first Board Governance training. All trainings are developed
and facilitated by and for HIV positive people J

Kath, I thought this was stage 2 of PAN training, is it Stage one?

Hi Denise and others,
My answer is: B, too busy right now. Plus, board work is not the type of work
I want to focus on right now.
However, this weekend I am involved in co-facilitating the PAN training “Bored?
Get on Board!” It is an introductory training for people with HIV to develop
skills and knowledge to be on a board of directors (any board they choose of
course). Out of 18 participants we have 8 women attending this weekend! I will
be sure to put the word out that you are actively recruiting (and may I say
‘mentoring’?) women to be on Positive living BC’s board.

I have not received any replies regarding running for the Board of Positive
Living BC. This interests me and I am not sure what to make of it. Quite often
in Board meetings, I tell the Board that they need to include women and reach
out to them to run on the Board. They have told me that they have in the past
and there is no interest. It is hard to push for women's retreats, women
focussed articles in Positive Living magazine, and other things when I am the
only one on the Board.
So, I need to understand where you all are coming from. I have listed below
some reasons that you might not be interested in joining the Board and would
appreciate you either just typing a reply with an a, b, or e, etc.(you can
choose more than one) or letting me know another reason. Then I will have a
good handle on the whole issue.
Thanks!
