*1. AIDS 2012 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN *

Registration (regular delegate, student/post-doc, youth delegate,
accompanying adult and child and media representative) for the XIX
International AIDS Conference is now open.

All registrations for AIDS 2012 must be submitted through the online
registration form. Before you can register, you need to create a conference
profile from which you can enter the registration system. Your conference
profile will then become your online gateway to all conference-related
submissions. Delegates of previous International AIDS Conferences or IAS
Conferences can use previous profile log-in information to access their
profile.

Delegates are encouraged to register by 23 February 2012 to avoid

*2. FLIGHTS TO WASHINGTON, D.C., HOTEL ACCOMMODATION AND TOURS *

Individual and group flight bookings can now be made online through the

*4. GLOBAL VILLAGE SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN*

The Global Village, open to conference delegates and the general public,
aims to intensify the involvement of key affected populations and other
stakeholders in the conference and in the global response to AIDS. Examples
of activities include sessions, forums, oral presentations, awards,
networking zones, NGO exhibition booths, marketplace booths, art exhibits,
film screenings and performing arts.

*5. YOUTH PROGRAMME SUBSMISSIONS NOW OPEN *

The Youth Programme aims to strengthen the participation of young people
and the profile of youth issues in the conference through activities such
as a youth pavilion, youth-driven sessions, an electronic youth newsletter,
the youth opening session and reception, a commitment desk and a youth
preconference.

*6. WORKSHOP SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN *

AIDS 2012 will offer a selection of workshops to enhance delegates'
learning experience. Each workshop will focus on a particular topic in the
areas of professional development, leadership and accountability or
community skills development. Experienced and dynamic practitioners and
faculty will facilitate the workshops.

*7. SATELLITE MEETING AND EXHIBITION SPACE APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN *

Satellite meetings take place in the conference centre but are fully
organized and coordinated by the organization hosting the satellite
(private company, government agency, institution or NGO). The contents and
speakers of the satellite meetings will be reviewed by the programme
committee to ensure that they meet the scientific and ethical principles of
the conference.

*8. AFFILIATED INDEPENDENT EVENTS AT AIDS 2012 *

Affiliated independent events will support the vision and goals of the
conference and address HIV, co-infections or issues faced by individuals or
organizations affected by or responding to the epidemic. Organized by third
parties, these events will take place outside the conference venue at times
that do not conflict with the conference programme. Delegates should be
aware that certain events will require pre-registration.

*10. INTERNATIONAL AND MEDIA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMMES *

The conference organizing partners are committed to making AIDS 2012
accessible to people from resource-limited settings, researchers globally,
community activists and civil society representatives. Priority will be
given to those whose participation will help enhance their work in their
own communities, to those who are able to assist in the transfer of skills
and knowledge acquired at the conference, and to those whose abstract,
workshop or activity submission has been selected.

A very limited number of scholarships will also be available for media
representatives from around the world. Media scholarship applicants will be
asked to provide media accreditation and supporting documents.

Ya abrió la inscripción (delegado común, estudiante/postdoc, delegado
joven, adulto y niño acompañante y representante de medios) para la XIX
Conferencia Internacional sobre el SIDA.

recepción inaugural para la juventud, un mostrador de compromiso y una
preconferencia para la juventud.

Las reuniones satélites se realizan en el centro de conferencias pero la
organización que auspicia el satélite (empresa privada, agencia de
gobierno, institución u ONG) se encarga de la totalidad de la organización
y la coordinación. Se supervisarán los contenidos y los oradores de las
reuniones satélites para asegurar que cumplan con los principios
científicos y éticos de la conferencia.

*10. PROGRAMA INTERNACIONAL DE BECAS Y PROGRAMA DE BECAS DE LOS MEDIOS *

con recursos limitados, investigadores de todo el mundo, activistas
