In Sub-Saharan Africa, the region most heavily affected by HIV, legal,
policy and social barriers, including stigma, discrimination, gender
inequality and the criminalization of key populations at higher risk of HIV
infection, continue to make people vulnerable to HIV and hamper the ability
of individuals, communities and states to respond to the epidemic. This was
the conclusion of the Regional Dialogue for sub-Saharan Africa, part of the
Global Commission on HIV and the Law, held at the beginning of August in

*MSMGF: Invitation to join transgender focus group*

As an NGO delegate for the North American region, the MSMGF is gathering
input from our region for incorporation into the report.  As part of this
process, we would like to invite you to participate in a focus group
targeting transgender people from Canada and the United States!  ****

The focus group offers an opportunity to share your experiences with access
to prevention and treatment as well as suggestions for policies and programs
to be included in the NGO Delegation’s report to the UNAIDS PCB.  We would
love for you to take part!  We are especially interested in hearing from
transgender women who are people of color, immigrant, or living with HIV,
and/or transgender people with experience concerning drug use, sex work
and/or incarceration.****
