[Viva] disability insurance

I am on LTD as well  Denise and my doctor and I need to do yearly paperwork.
But questioning has not stepped up as far as I can tell.  I heard that once
you are on it for over a decade or so they usually leave you alone.  I also
heard that Great west Life has one of the worst reputations for being nasty.
You might want to call Suzanne Krieger at Positive Living - she has
supported many people with LTD challenges.  Or Melissa at PWN is an awesome
support worker as well.

I agree that the system is awful and paints us as either totally healthy or
totally sick...no gray zone which is where most of us are!

I have recently noticed that Great West Life, my disability insurer has been
stepping up its questioning me about my disability - has anyone else
experienced this?  I find it terrible that if you go back to work and have a
pre-existing condition, then get sick you are not covered unless the company
has some deal with the insurer. 

 

I have felt really stressed about it and just feel sick to death of being
called or written to every six months.  How is this meant to make you feel?
