Subject: Congratulations to all those associated with a splendid AIDS Walk!

Dear folk,

I just got back home from participating in today's Scotiabank
AIDS Walk for Life - the 25th Annual! (I spent my time staffing the BCPWA
Information table.)

It was brilliant! The new site worked very well; the program
was tight and well-scripted; a bit of a glitch with two of the portable
pancake grills notwithstanding, the small army of volunteers kept everything
moving along nicely; the overall mood was celebratory and even festive .

And when all is said and done we will have grossed well in
excess of $400,000! ("Day of" receipts today totaled just shy of $390,000,
and there's always additional money that comes trickling in after the Walk,
totaling usually considerably more than $10,000.)

Hearty congratulations to the Fund Development crew, most
notably Zoran, Monica, Shannon, Brett, and - this year - Stephen Macdonald,
who stepped to fill the leadership role in Fund Development during Dena's
absence (of course, Dena's wonderfully effective work in lining up Walk
sponsors prior to her departure played a huge roll in this year's success,
too)! The Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life Standing Committee (Glyn Townson,
John Bishop, Ken Buchanan, and John Bishop (with staff support) were crucial
in plotting the Walk's presentation.

Adam Reibin did his usual excellent job, too, securing media
promotion of the Walk.

Finally, I would be remiss if I failed to mention the Walk
fundraiser extraordinaire, John Pedersen, who all but singlehandedly brought
in more than $26,000 through his Cineplex team, making him by far and away
the Top Walker.

But I should note, too, that the BCPWA Staff Team was the third
place team for this year's Walk, bringing in almost $5.600 - of which total
Adriaan de Vries accounted for 47 percent! Indeed, if you combine the BCPWA
staff team's $5,600 with the BCPWA Board team's ("Because We Care") $3,250,
the combined "BCPWA team" at $8,850 was second only to John Pedersen's
Cineplex team! (The Vancouver Men's Chorus brought in $6,680.)

All in all a splendid effort in so many ways from thousands of
individuals!

Yours for a grand success,

Ross
