OCTOBER 28th, 2010.

TAKE ACTION NOW:

On Thursday, October 28th the committee will start debating possible
amendments to Bill C-393, legislation to reform Canada's Access to Medicines
Regime (CAMR), including those proposed by big pharma aimed at gutting the
key features of the bill.  

We have learned that there is a plan in the works aimed at killing Bill
C-393 on a procedural technicality if and when it goes back to the House of
Commons. 

We have identified a group of target MPs that need to know Canadians care
about Bill C-393 and CAMR reform.  Please phone or email the MPs outlined
below and let them know that you support CAMR reform, and that you expect
them to ensure that Bill C-393 will be properly debated and considered on
its merits by the House of Commons. Let them know that it would be
unacceptable for them to allow a minor procedural technicality derail this
important initiative to make CAMR finally work.

au projet de loi, y compris ceux proposés par les grandes sociétés
pharmaceutiques de marque afin d’éroder les points forts qu’il contient.  

De plus, nous avons été informés que des plans sont en préparation pour
faire dérailler le projet de loi en raison d’un point technique procédural
lorsqu’il serait renvoyé, le cas échéant, à la Chambre des communes. 

Il y a un groupe de députés qui ont doivent savoir que les canadiens sont en
faveur des réformes au Projet de loi C-393.  Téléphonez ou envoyez des
courriels aux députés (voyez ci-dessous), et demandez-leur d’appuyer les
changements que le Projet de loi C-393 apporterait au Régime canadien
d’accès aux médicaments.  Vous devriez leur faire savoir que vous êtes en
faveur des réformes qui feront que le RCAM soit efficace, et que vous vous
attendez à ce qu’ils permettent que le Projet de loi C-393 soit le sujet
d’un débat adéquat et considéré pour son mérite, par la Chambre des
communes.
