*Multi-Faith Pre-Conference, July 17
*

On July 17, 2010, people of faith involved in the global response to HIV
will gather in Vienna, Austria. The Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance, churches
in Vienna and partners around the world will join in planning for a one-day
Multi-Faith Pre-Conference.

The aim of the event is to learn from and contribute to the global response
to HIV and AIDS, through sharing experience and engaging actively in AIDS
2010. The pre-conference will provide an opportunity for participants to
explore the challenges HIV and AIDS poses to people of faith, evaluate
action taken and plan strategies required to put faith into action in the
AIDS response.

opportunity to network, build and share expertise and collectively explore
the challenges posed by the HIV pandemic.

*Networking Zones at the Global Village*

Networking Zonesare spaces for local and international groups focused on
particular populations or geographic regions. In these areas groups can meet
and conduct their own activities and engage with delegates and the public
visiting the Global Village.

A number of Networking Zones call for proposals are currently circulating,
among other:

   - Women and Young Women to Vienna and Beyond: A Women's Networking Zone
   at AIDS 2010

Building on a decade of women's organising at and around the International
AIDS Conference, the Women's Networking Zone (WNZ) will take place from July
18 to 23 at the Global Village. Coordinated by the ATHENA Network, the WNZ
builds on a consultative process from 2008 to 2010 to identify key issues
affecting women and young women in relation to HIV and AIDS in the Europe
and Central Asia region, including stigma and discrimination, motherhood,
sex and sexuality, harm reduction and sex workers' rights. The process has
been led by and inclusive of women and young women living with HIV, whose
leadership the WNZ seeks to promote while encouraging linkages between
positive, negative and untested women locally, regionally and globally.

dialogues, discussions, panels and workshops, and will give priority to
sessions relevant to young women and/or run by young women.

   - Multi-Faith Networking Zone

The Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance is seeking innovative, informative and
inclusive proposals for sessions at the Multi-Faith Networking Zone at the
Global Village.

The zone will provide a space for people of faith to share their experiences
of HIV and AIDS, engage in inter-faith dialogue, exchange best practices and
foster collaboration. In addition, the zone will introduce Austrian and
international visitors to the breadth and depth of faith communities' work
in response to HIV and AIDS around the world. It will be a testament to
people working together despite differences of faith and, in particular,
will highlight ways in which faith communities can address stigma and
discrimination associated with HIV.

*Conference Hubs: Bringing AIDS 2010 to You*

For those who are not able to attend AIDS 2010, a hub could bring the
conference to you. By accessing recorded sessions through the Internet you
can organise and participate in discussions and debates locally. This also
provides an opportunity to network and leverage AIDS 2010 sessions to
strengthen the AIDS response in your country!

What is a conference hub?
Conference hubs are physical locations around the world where selected
sessions of the conference will be screened. These sessions are usually
followed by moderated local discussions to examine how the content of a
session may be used to strengthen the response to HIV locally.

Conference hub submissions close on June 15, 2010.

For more information about the conference hubs, visit AIDS 2010
website<http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?et=1103342099452&s=247&e=001n1bBYbeTgs3k5V7HteSzJyW2z3oQ2eaaqNXBHPewXhVKb3bn-gTvbxGXh5tiua4Fu_Rqx1hFLe5_PZjsRXBlmaRv8xe6tFoipddoLTZbiD8-JwyRMKl17Jp02XMkGdgoVvPqOAyvwBYp_UMJ1e5mgw==>
