Dear Positive Gathering Partners

We received news yesterday from the Plaza 500 Hotel that the hotel is about
to go under renovation and will now be closed from Dec 15, 2010 until May 1,
2011.   Therefore the hotel is not able to accommodate our March 25-27, 2011
Positive Gathering dates.  After considering several options yesterday, the
BCPWA Standing Committee for the Positive Gathering has agreed to postpone
the conference to June 2011.  Tentative dates are June 17-19, 2011 at the
newly renovated Plaza 500 Hotel.

I am on vacation leave starting today and returning to the office January
17th.    Adam Reibin will be the point person for Gathering related matters
in my absence.    I will however be contacting our speakers Francisco and
Kath today to inform them of the date change. Fingers crossed that both will
be available in June.

We will be modifying all our posters, registration forms, website, etc with
the new dates.

Revisions have been made to the revised meeting schedule discussed at our
last meeting, to conform to the new dates.   In other words, we will only
meet once in January, on January 21st at 10:00am, and once in February on
Feb 15th at our regular time of 3:00pm.   The meeting scheduled for February
1st is cancelled.  Additional monthly meetings will be scheduled for April
and May 2011.

Revised submission dates for workshop proposals and registration/scholarship
applications will be determined and Adam Reibin will be in email contact
with you regarding same.  My suggestion for deadlines would be March 31,
2011 for workshop proposals and scholarship applications, and May 31st for
general registration.  Agencies will be receiving packages of revised
posters, registration forms, and proposal call info by January.

Thank you for your understanding regarding these changes.  The work we've
done to date, and are continuing to do, will not be lost.  We will have a
little more post-Christmas breathing space...that's the silver lining.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your commitment to the
Gathering and to wish the best of the season and a very happy new year.
