[Van-Parecon] Chomsky, Parecon & The Corporation

Hello,

First, we'd like to remind you that the Vancouver Parecon Collective will be
presenting the documentary film "The Corporation" at Vancouver's Pacific
Cinematheque theatre, 1131 Howe Street, Saturday, June 19. Co-producer
Bart Simpson will be present to introduce the film and participate in a
discussion on Participatory Economics(Parecon).

Doors at 1:00p.m., film at 1:30, tickets are $8.00 at the door. We will
hold a brief presentation on Parecon after the film till approx. 5:00p.m..
There will be intermissions and a chance to leave the theatre before we
start our presentation.

A portion of this events proceeds will be donated to
www.thenewstandard.net and the recently burned down Spartacus Books.

Second, the Vancouver Parecon Collective has asked Noam Chomsky to comment
on the importance of organizing for a Participatory Economy. Here is what
he has to say:

"A great many activists and concerned people ask, quite rightly, what
alternative form of social organization can be imagined that might overcome
the grave flaws -- often real crimes -- of contemporary society in more
far-reaching ways than short-term reform.  Parecon is the most serious
effort I know to provide a very detailed possible answer to some of these
questions, crucial ones, based on serious thought and careful analysis."
