Today a representative of the City of Vancouver Engineering 
Department delivered a letter to the homeless squatters at Woodwards 
which reads, in part:

"[The City] demand(s) that you remove (the) tents, structures, and 
objects from City streets, including City sidewalks, ON OR BEFORE 
NOON ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2002 (emphasis in original)."

The Woodwards Squatters are calling on all supporters to come down to 
the Woodwards Building at West Hastings and Abbott Streets at 12:00 
noon on Wednesday, October 30.

Please note this letter IS NOT a court injunction; however, the 
granting of an injunction is the next step, which could possibly 
occur as early as Wednesday afternoon.

Many of the homeless have said they will not move as they have 
nowhere else to go.
