Our largest demonstration took place February 15, 2003, when at least 25,000 people marched in Vancouver against war on Iraq. Our other most notable march and rally was in March 2004, when 20,000 people came out to hear Noam Chomsky speak to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the war in Iraq.
In 2006, Stopwar shifted our focus to opposing Canada's combat role in the war in Afghanistan, and in 2010, began opposing the Canadian government's military spending, most notably the F-35 fighter jet program.
